"The Anchor is a family friendly pub located in the rural village of Little Paxton. We offer fantastic food, good beer and great wines, all served by our welcoming team of staff. During the cold winter months we light our cosy log fire and for the summer months we have a fantastic outdoor dining area as well as an outside patio and play area. Everyone is welcome including well behaved dogs in our garden areas. No food service Sunday or Monday evening."

Origins of "Anchor" as a Pub Name
There are two common origins of the Anchor pub name. The first of course is the maritime connection, a ship's anchor, and many coastal pubs called the Anchor are likely to have this root. The second is a Christian biblican reference from the Letter to the Hebrews "we have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul - a hope".
