A function room or private space (sometimes a restaurant area) can be hired exclusively for your use for a wedding reception, birthday party or other special event. There will usually be a space for a DJ or band, and The Ship may be able to provide catering such as a buffet or sit-down meal if required, or they may be willing to allow you to self-cater or bring in a third party caterer. Pubs such as The Ship usually make great venues for semi-formal parties such as special birthdays, engagements or funeral wakes and depending on the expected number of guests will often provide the function room for a nominal charge.
