Origins of "White Horse " as a Pub Name

A white horse is the sign of the House of Hanover and was adopted by many 18th Century inns to demonstrate loyalty to this new dynasty. It is also the emblem for Kent, and can refer to the various chalk horse symbols carved into hillsides predominantly in the south of England.
